An elliptical workout differs from a treadmill workout in a few ways. Both will give you an aerobic workout but an elliptical trainer will work different muscle groups than a treadmill.
While both are excellent choices, they do have distinct differences. By knowing the difference, you can decide if an elliptical workout, the treadmill workout or even a combination of both works best for you.

I own both. I just need to get out of the computer chair and use them!!
1We have a treadmill here that I use every day but I would ♥ to have an elliptical. Both are pretty expensive though so once I get back to VA it's back to mostly outdoor exercise
2I love how that article says elliptical machines give you a full-body workout, but if you don't want that, treadmills are great too! Hahahah I want it it's just too expensive!
3I tend to use the elliptical most & walk/run outside.
4I have an elliptical that I absolutely adore, but if you go to buy one make sure the "engine" or whatever it is is behind the foot petals. If the motor thingy is between the foot petals, your feet will be situated too far apart, and your hips will hurt from using it, as well as your knees. The positioning has to be natural, and for that the NordicTrack ones fit the bill and are the cheapest to choose from. I think mine was $550....expensive but cheaper than paying for the gym over five years!!!! An elliptical, some free weights, and a yoga pad, as well as two puppies that love walks is my gym!!!!
5$550 isn't as bad as I thought they'd be, I could swing that if I saved for a while. Treadmill, free weights, yoga, and a puppy that loves walks is my workout routine RK, what more do you need, right?
