So in the fitsugar section, there was a Get Motivated post asking for your fitness goals... and these are my current ones:
1) Run for 1 hr. or longer 3/4 days a week (training for half-marathon coming around the corner....)
2) Strengthen arms (Cameron Diaz WHO?!?!)
3) Look and feel great in a pair of shorts!
Those are reasonable, yes?
I want to lost twenty more pounds, and then I can breathe easier... it's just, (no pun intended), weighing on my mind...
What do you all want to accomplish by Summer?
Faith
I love that you took initiative and posted your goals. I likewise want to feel good in a pair of shorts. Lunges and squats, here I come!
1I really need to step up my workouts in the morning! I want to workout for at least an hour 5-6 times a week and cross train. AND I need to get more serious about doing yoga every day.
2i aim to be fitter all round. i started running again and i want to loose some of my tummy fat by the summer.cause i turn 21 and im having a big bash! gotta look my best!
3Ladies those sound like good goals! Keep up the hard work
4I really really REAAAAALLY need ab exercises!! I have an exercise ball and a resistance band but I haven't found any great ab workouts and I detest crunches and situps
5You should try standing abs! They work really well so long as they're done properly.
Here's one I do --
Stand in a squat, tuck your tailbone under you, so your body is forming a semi-C shape, and then twist from side to side. You'll want your hips stabilized so that it's your abs doing all the work. You can cross your arms over your chest if you like, or have your elbows parallel to your shoulder and your arms bent up. Anyway, twist to a song on your I-pod and then take a break and go again. If you don't feel your abs working that hard, get into a deeper squat. It works legs really well, too!
And, you could hold your medicine ball in front of you.
6Oh sweet.. I'll try that this week. I always have problems with squats though.. I threw out my back early this year and am STILL having problems with it so 1. I always feel like I'm doing them incorrectly and 2. the back thing makes them more difficult.
I think I need to step up my yoga.. that should help.
7Threw out my back last year, I should say.
8Sorry to hear that, but yoga should be good for you!
